Aish! Stepping into a KDrama
Getting through incheon airport was a breeze, and I don't even want to know what I looked like coming from Vietnam in comparison to how clean and fashionable people dress in Seoul. I got there early morning, so I had to drop my stuff off at the hotel (courtesy of my awesome uncle who was just there before I was with his wife to visit in-laws). I did the best I could to freshen up in their lobby bathroom, and off I went to walk around the city before I could check in.

The stark contrast between what I saw in Seoul and Vietnam was readily apparent. Everything was clean, bright, modern and generally cayyuuttee. I was only in Seoul for 3 full days, including the first day I landed, so I wanted to make my time count. After checking in and having a brunch of sorts in a cute (caayutte) cafe, I went to a tourist center to schedule a day tour for the next day. My hotel was in a great location and smack in the center of all the shopping center area. After checking into the hotel, since it was sooo nice with a nice bed and a bidet (!!!!) I spent more time settling in my hotel room than I intended haha. Seriously, a hi-tech toilet compared to the bathrooms I encountered in Vietnam? I could hear angels singing. By angels, I mean my butt.
Rest of the day I continued exploring the city. For dinner I went to what looked like a popular Korean fried chicken place. And daaayum was it good.
DAY 2:
The next day I took the history tour. My tour guide was a literal gem picked right out of a Korean Drama show. While I want to spit out all the facts I learned..I can't. But I'll show some cool pictures of old temples and houses I saw.

DAY 3:
My last full day! I went exploring on my own to their space needle building thing. One of the friends I made while I was volunteering in Hanoi reached out and told me she had friends doing study abroad where I was. So it was pretty cool I got to hang out with some nice Vietnamese students on my last day. They were really cool and showed me around and took me to a Vietnamese restaurant as my last meal on this trip.

DAY 4/HOME:
Early morning I took the nice efficient shuttle to the airport. I flew out around 10am local time I think and got back to Columbus OH around 3pm. Pretty crazy how time works. Then my friend drove me to the DMV so I could renew my license (21 whaddup!) and fly out the next day to start my internship in Boston at PwC..
Sad to end such an amazing trip to start working but it was an amazing experience. It reminded me how big the world was and how..small life can be sometimes in comparison. How you can meet so many people in your lifetime and how everyone is going through their own experiences.
