Legal in Vietnam

WOOHOO 21 here I come! We started my birthday weekend at the apartment on Friday night which
was so much fun. Then on Saturday, a few of us decided to indulge and stay at a hotel downtown so we won't have to worry about getting a taxi so late at night. Honestly, I was looking forward more to the hotel than the partying. So after checking into the Rising Dragon, which we got lost finding it only to find that we went to the wrong hotel since there are like 20 Rising Dragon hotels in Hanoi, we made plans to go to dinner at Hard Rock Cafe...or so we thought. A lot of us were excited to go to Hard Rock Cafe for a brief reprieve from Vietnamese food, and Duc and his girlfriend said they would take us since there's a show. When we looked up the address on the website, we couldn't find it (foreshadow) and we were like uhh we'll just get the address from Duc. It turns out that Duc and his girlfriend took us to Holyland Rock Cafe which is like kind of far away from downtown and not that popular....and didn't serve any food so we had to go somewhere else for food, except where we were mostly served drinks. When we finally found a place, it took a long time for the food to arrive, so we glanced behind us in the kitchen only to find that there was no one in the kitchen and when we turned around we saw our food come from the front getting delivered from a motorbike. It was the strangest thing. And since most of us were craving western food (which was why we were so disappointed there was no Hard Rock Cafe) most of us ordered hamburgers. 15 minutes later, they told us they ran out (probably cause it took the delivery guy that long to relay the message) so we ordered a chicken burger. When the food was delivered to the restaurant (I just laughed aloud to myself thinking about it again!), the 'burger' was a soggy small chicken tender between two slices of white bread. It was so crazy that it was funny.

Anyway, so we went back to Holyland thinking whatever we'll just get drinks...apparently when there is a live band (who were surprisingly good), drinks are 100,000 to 135,000 dong!?!?!?!?!!?!?!? Oi Troi Oi!!! (Oh my goodness!) That's like 5 dollars where I can just walk next door and spend 5,000 dong on a drink- that's 25 cents! Which is what we did, and I think Duc's girlfriend got offended but unless she was paying there is no way. After a drink we quickly figured out whereever that we were was lame (Thanks a lot Duc's girlfriend!) so we took a taxi back to the Old Quarters and by that time it was like 11:20 and we were still hungry so we went to look around only to see that ALL the places are shut down -__- then we like gahh ohkay back to beer corner so we walked back there and it's like 11:40 and the police told us we couldn't go in. laskjdfhlsjkdhglksdjhglajsdlhf

The upside of this is that since we had to end the night 'early' that meant more time in the nice bed since we didn't want to miss the very nice hotel breakfast that was included. Ohmigosh it was so
good. I can't stop eating dragonfruit or whatever exotic fruit it was. Today we went a silk village which wasn't really a village at all but still cool.
